The robotics kids are on their way to their competition in Duluth.

After many weeks of hard work, the Cannon Falls Robotics team will be packing up to head to Duluth on Thursday, March 7th. The team will need to arrive at the school around 4:45 Thursday morning. Once everyone is on board the team will make a brief stop in Red Wing to grab Red Wing’s team, after which they will continue their journey. The team is looking to make it to the World Competition in Detroit, but in order to do so they must win at least one regional competition. The team will be competing in two regionals again this year, giving them two chances to achieve their goal for the season.

Getting to Duluth wasn’t always easy. This year’s team put in a lot of extra effort to ensure that they would be up to the same caliber as last year. One such example is Tom Sucher, who had to learn how to use CAD software to design parts and other models of the robot. “It was beneficial to the team to learn how to use CAD, but it wasn’t always easy. I spent a lot of time in the summer learning and preparing for this season and I’m hoping it’ll all pay off.”

Hopefully all the work that Tom, and the many others in robotics, pays off for them so that they can punch their ticket to the World Competition.
