Queen Kaesey hands out ribbons

I woke up on the morning of October 17th, looked at my clock, and was momentarily shocked to see that it was 9:03! Did I forget to set my alarm? No, I realized, today was the first day of Education Minnesota break. On Monday at school when I asked my friends what they did over their breaks, most answered that they just relaxed, however,Kaesey Glaess and Megan Bauer came to school on Monday with some very interesting stories to tell.

“For a couple of days I was up at the Beef Expo,” said Glaess. She explained that the Expo is the first chance to show your calves leading up to the spring/summer season, one day they have a sale and the next they have the junior show for people under 21 years of age. Glaess wasn’t actually up there to show, though, “I’m the Minnesota Angus Queen,” Glaess says, “and so the day of the show I go up there and hand out awards cause that’s one of my duties as being Queen.”

Another person to come back from break with a story was Megan Bauer who, like many other CFHS students went on college visits. She went to Dartmouth, Princeton, and Swarthmore. “When I went to Dartmouth, not only did I get to tour the campus, and do an information session, but there was a student panel,” said Bauer when describing an interesting point of her trip. She seemed really happy about the way her trip went. At the very least she can rest assured that her’s and Kaesey’s were more interesting than mine, and that of many other Cannon Falls High School students.
