One-to-One 101

Tired of rummaging through your locker to pull out a single crumpled piece of paper and finally finding the bottom to get a dull pencil? Lenovo Chromebooks and Windows Tablets are coming to Cannon Falls for even more students. Last year, 6th graders and 9th graders received Dell tablets to use throughout the 2014-2015 school term. This year, 6th, 7th, 9th, and 10th graders will all receive a device. Sixth and seventh graders will be using Lenovo Chromebooks and ninth and tenth graders will use Windows Tablets. “I am excited to get the tablet so we don’t have to carry around a big math book in the future,” 9th grader, Erwin Strelow, mentions.  On Tuesday, September 15th students picked up their device throughout the day.

“We have a one on one initiative plan, and according to the plan we are limited on our budget. Although 8th graders, juniors, and seniors do not get a device this year, next year everyone will be one-to-one. The whole school should have a device,” Enrique Ramos, the technology director, says. So, say goodbye to tedious pencils and creased paper homework.

There will be a follow up article on tech one-to-one later this week.
