The eighth grade Bomber football team took the field this 2025 season, not only a year older, but also a year more experienced and seasoned. The success of the future varsity football program depends on the grit and determination of the current eighth grade team. Though the eighth grade bomber football team didn’t exactly get the season they hoped for last year, they have high hopes and goals for the rest of the 2025 season.
Football is very much a team sport, and the eighth grade bomber football team is certainly a big one. This current year’s team consists of 17 players, 15 of whom have returned from the 2024 season. Good team comradery is very important for football, so it is good that most of the players from the previous season returned, so then the boys will have already learned how to play together.
The bomber boys have had four games so far, and four to go. Currently, the highlight of their season is holding Triton to a limited amount of points, when last year, “They put up 36 points against us,” Kason Lindahl says. This shows the improvement from this football season to last, and how much the eighth graders have grown.
Slade Shramske said their toughest competitor was “Chatfield”. This was their hardest game, because they had to fight hard the whole game, and push their limits. Although the game didn’t necessarily end the way the Bombers had hoped, the team learned lots from the game, and grew from the challenge.
Traditionally, the varsity bomber football team has had very good success, winning lots of games, and making it deep into the playoffs. The eighth grade boys hope to follow in the footsteps of the varsity team, and continue in their success in the years to come.
