Joe Beckman is a motivational speaker who travels across the country, talking to students about the importance of human connection. His goal is to help schools and communities build a welcoming community and supportive environment where everyone is connected. He visited Cannon Falls High School on March 18th to talk to middle school and high school students. Beckman also talked to parents in the community later that evening, and the Minnesota Honor Society and Students Against Destructive Decisions after lunch.
Joe Beckman has visited Cannon Falls before, his last visit was three years ago. He talked about a similar topic to students and families during that first visit and during this most recent one. Cara Erickson, a junior in MHS, said that, “He mainly talked about how important it is to make connections with other people through kindness, understanding, etc., and how important it is to be positive rather than negative in life.” Joe also had another session to talk to other community members later that evening. Erickson stated, “I think his talk was an important message for people to hear. Having a reminder to be kind and positive is nice to hear, especially for students who are going through stuff and need something like that in their day.” Joe’s main goal was to better connect students and teach them kindness, and he is doing just that, one school at a time.
Joe Beckman talks to schools and communities with a goal, but it’s not just for him; it’s to actually make an impact on students. Katherine Stay, a junior in high school, stated, “I think his talks are beneficial for the school and community because his message could help spread awareness and kindness throughout people’s lives.” The impact made by Joe’s talks doesn’t just have an effect on Cannon Falls but also on other communities throughout the country.
Joe Beckman’s visit to Cannon Falls High School served as a powerful reminder of the importance of human connection, kindness, and positivity. Through his engaging talks with students, parents, and community members, he continues to spark meaningful conversations that go beyond the classroom. His message resonates deeply with those who hear it, encouraging people of all ages to treat others with empathy and understanding.
