Cannon Falls High School will host their very first Men’s and Women’s Swimming tryouts next week. This comes after the school board secretly included provisions in the referendum to put in a swimming pool underneath the field house.
It has recently come to the attention of Cannon Falls students that over Spring Break, the school quickly and quietly installed a lap pool, a removable water slide, and removable high dives in the field house. Athletic Director Reid Olson announced Monday that Mr. Clark would be the Head Coach for the swim team and said that the Athletic Department was very happy to be adding a new sport.
The swim team will also double as a water polo team, marking a historic first for high schools in our region.
Both Coach Lindow and Coach Zimmerman are becoming increasingly worried, as many of their athletes are now jumping ship and going to the swim team instead of baseball or track and field.
Although the swim season has not yet started, Cannon Falls students can be very excited about a new sport emerging. The Bombers will go to Edina to compete against a host of schools, including St. Thomas Academy and Stillwater, in their first competition of the year on April 6th.
