A rough stretch
Games, games and more games. The softball team has been given little time for practice, due to the large number of games that needed to be completed before sections. These games included some of the toughest teams in the conference. On Monday, the girls started off with a tough loss to Hayfield. Considering how aggressive their offense is, the girls battled through and tried their best.
However, there was no time for moping considering the team played again the next night against Stewartville. A mighty tough challenge, but winnable. Offense became the leading issue against Stewie with CF ending scoreless. With no momentum in the bombers favor the team was due for yet another game, perhaps the biggest of the year.
Facing the Kasson Komets was sure to be a challenged, but the team did all they could. The Komets have a junior pitcher who has only allowed single digit runs-scored this season, leaving the players swinging late on every pitch. Lydia Franken earned the only base hit for the lady Bombers, with only three other players getting hits. The team battled to a scoreless tie against Zumbrota until the 13th inning when Zumbrota scored off a foul ball in the outfield.
