This Music May Contain Hope is the second studio album of singer and songwriter Raye. It was released on March 27, 2026. Raye, or Rachel Agatha Keen, has been creating music for years, and she is gaining popularity recently. Her first album came out in 2023 and is called My 21st Century Blues. Her newest album, This Music May Contain Hope, is packed full of a wide array of music styles and features collaborations with prominent musicians.
Before the full album came out, three singles were released. The first, and one of the most noted, is “Where Is My Husband!” Raye later released “Nightingale Lane” and “Click Clack Symphony.” Known for having a very strong voice, Raye shows it off in her new album. Many of her songs sound theatrical. With multiple styles working together, This Music May Contain Hope combines jazz, blues, soul, orchestra, and more to create a beautiful blend of music.
As the first single from the album, “Where Is My Husband!” is a comedic and energetic tune about being single and waiting for a life partner to come along. In the song, Raye expresses her wish for her future husband to find her, representing her desire for a stable and permanent relationship. “Nightingale Lane” is a passionate ballad. It tells the story of healing after a past relationship ended. “Nightingale Lane” is based on an actual place in South London, referencing where Raye had her greatest heartbreak.
Her final single, “Click Clack Symphony,” has the most striking sound out of all the songs on the album. Raye collaborated with Hans Zimmer to produce it. Zimmer is a film composer best known for his works in movies like Interstellar, The Lion King, and the Dune series. The song combines pop with orchestra, creating a modern and dramatic atmosphere. It’s about overcoming depression and isolation. Click clacking heels are the backdrop of the song, empowering listeners to keep moving ahead.
Besides Han Zimmer, Raye worked with another celebrated artist on the album. The song “Goodbye Henry” features American soul singer Al Green, who was a widely recognized vocalist in the 1970s. Raye’s family members are also featured in her music. “Fields” is a duet with her grandfather. Although he never became famous, he is also a songwriter like Raye. The song is more acoustic and gospel sounding, and it’s written as a letter from Raye to her grandfather. In the song “Joy,” Raye’s sisters Absolutely and Amma provide extra vocals.
This Music May Contain Hope has songs with humorous tones, but it still addresses serious topics. It confronts real life problems in the current times, like heartbreak, self-doubt, and isolation. The album is fresh and unique compared to other new music, as it incorporates multiple different music genres. This Music May Contain Hope lives up to its name, offering hope through optimistic messages about making it through difficult times.
