For this year’s fall musical, Annie Pederson, the director of the play, has decided to put on Beauty and The Beast. The performances were at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 17 and Saturday, November 18th, and 1 p.m. on Sunday, November 19th.
Piper O’Gorman was in charge of painting all the backgrounds. She said, “I’m excited to be a part of it. This is my first year doing it, I’m really happy to do this. I think the most important thing is the art of theater, I think it’s a bit overlooked. I think people should come to watch the musical because It’s a good way to express yourself.” Angel Zheng is a senior, and this was her first year doing a musical, “My favorite part is a different form, to sing and dance, and to just have fun with acting. Most importantly, the friends we make and the people who enjoy the same thing. It is going to be a lot of fun and it’s going to be cheaper than other musicals.” Bowen Maki, who plays Lumiere, said: “My favorite thing about this musical is performing and being on stage, I’m excited to show the audience what we have been doing. The most important thing to me about this musical is that I am acting, singing, and dancing. Everyone should come watch and see that the costumes are better and there are more people. It’s enjoyable, it fun to give enjoying experiences to the audience.” Micah Katterjohn got one of the main roles of Gaston with this only being his first ever musical, and he said: “My favorite part about the musical is acting like a macho man. The most important part is the way people get along. I am really excited because it’s my first musical, like ever. Everyone should come to watch it, you get to see some great shenanigans.”
