A week for future farmers
In keeping with FFA tradition, the CFHS chapter will be hosting a variety of activities.
All across the nation, future farmers are celebrating National FFA Week. This year, it is celebrated from February 19the to the 26th, and the Cannon Falls FFA chapter is taking part in the festivities.
Kicking off the week, a few members of the FFA week committee painted the school rock with the organization’s signature colors of national blue and corn gold, as well as the FFA’s signature emblem.
The FFA chapter planned a few activities during lunches. They hope to host a steer roping contest and a tire flip for students to participate in after they finish eating.
The chapter has also planned themed dress-up days for each school day of the week. Starting on a controversial note, Monday’s theme is “John Deere vs. Case IH.” Tuesday is “‘Merica Day.” Wednesday continues with another dispute: “Ford vs. Chevy.” To conclude the week, Thursday is “Western Day” and Friday is “Dress like you’re going hunting day.” It is also specified that no weapons are allowed, for everyone’s safety and to adhere to school rules.
Students can participate is as many or as few activities as they wish, but the FFA hopes that everyone will have fun on this special week.
