After a tough loss in the semi-finals on March 8th against the Lake City Tigers, the 2024-2025 Bomber Boys Basketball season has come to a close. Every game the team played was hard-fought, regardless of the outcome, and each player demonstrated immense growth throughout the season.

Before the semi-final matchup, the Bombers had a successful run in the playoffs, first defeating the Randolph Rockets in the first round with a final score of 91-76. They then battled fiercely against Winona Cotter, advancing to the next round with a 70-58 victory.

Senior captain Jack Meyers reflected on the season, noting that if there was one thing he would do differently, it would be winning the final game against Lake City. “It was a tight game until the very end, and I would do anything to play just one more game,” Meyers said. He added, “I will remember all the lessons I’ve learned over the years and the memories made with my teammates.”

Gavin Johnson, a senior captain for the Bombers, shared his thoughts on the biggest takeaway from the season. “I think our biggest takeaway is that we were a family,” he said. “We played as a team, and when we executed that well, we were a very good team.”

When asked what he would miss most about Bomber Basketball, Johnson said, “It’s the little things—hanging out with the guys, going out to eat, talking before games and practices. The quality time we spent together is what I’ll miss the most.” Similarly, Meyers shared that he would miss the practices and the bus rides after games, moments that helped build the team’s camaraderie.

As for advice for the younger players, Johnson left some parting words: “You get out what you put in. If you want to be good, you have to put in the work. It’s that simple.”

The Bombers had an incredible season and are already looking forward to summer league, open gyms, and the 2025-2026 season.
