“BDT! BDT! BDT!,” is all anyone in the stands will hear this winter as another dance season rolls around. The Cannon Falls Bomber Dance Team began their season on October 19th with 27 girls on their varsity team. There are some new changes this year compared to last year with a new class, a new section, and with some new girls on the team.
The team’s first competition is in Apple Valley on December 5th but they have two non competitive shows before that. The first performance is this Saturday, November 14th, at their clinic with Kindergarten through sixth grade who will be learning and performing their own dances that day. Along with the JV and Varsity performances that night, the JV girls and their dads will be doing a father daughter dance, and Varsity will be doing a mother daughter dance. Another special treat this year is an alumni dance, and some of these alumni are from Cannon’s very first dance team. Also performing their new dances will be the local Just for Kicks groups and the visiting teams of Irondale and Faribault.
The team this year has 27 girls dancing their hearts out on the floor. Senior Captain McKenna Bauer states her thoughts for the season this year, “I can’t wait to see how we match up with these new teams,” The Bombers are dancing to a more hard rock song this year. This is the team’s first year back in single A so they are up against teams they haven’t competed against in awhile. In the Bomber’s new section they will be competing closely with the nearby town of Randolph and some other smaller towns.
The team has high hopes for a great season and can’t wait to get the first performance out of the way! Come out and watch them this Saturday, the show starts at 4:00pm. Join in with the fans and start screaming BDT! BDT! BDT! and wish the girls good luck on a fabulous season.
