After a rocky start to the season, the Cannon Falls Bomber baseball team played their best ball when it mattered.

     After a heartbreaking loss to the Zumbrota Mazeppa Cougars in the last game of the season, the Bombers ended with 15 wins and 12 losses. The loss to the Cougars game in the Section 1AA championship game. The final score was Cannon Falls 5 and Zumbrota Mazeppa 6. Going into the bottom of the seventh inning, the Bombers were winning 5 to 2, they needed three outs to punch their ticket to the state tournament; but with 2 outs the Cougars strung together hits and managed to send 4 runs across the plate and win the game.

     Although the Bombers ended the season with a heartbreaking loss, they still earned the title of Section 1AA runner-up. In addition, the team showed immense growth from the beginning of the season to the end, and made an incredible playoff run as the 8 seed.
