There are so many things to like about high school. Getting to hang out with friends and learning new stuff are just a few reasons why. Students in drama class did an amazing job portraying the many things to “love” about high school in a play called “10 Best/Worst Things about High School.” The drama class practiced diligently for the first half of the year to ensure that the play will turn out perfectly when performed. When they finally performed it, audience members were not disappointed.
On January 15th, the students in drama class performed for the high school students during the second hour. It was very spunky and funny, with a tad bit of meaning behind it, and all the students loved to watch it. There were plenty of scene changes along with costume changes but they never stopped the seniors from putting on a great show. Two of the main narrators, Grace Springer and Samuel Wagenknecht, put on an amazing duo of optimistic and pessimistic students about school.
When asked about the play, Grace Springer said “It was a good experience to get people who normally aren’t on the stage to get on the stage. It also helped a lot of people not be so nonchalant in front of their friends.” It was a funny story to listen to and a freshman, Hades Kammerude said, “I think the play was well put together and done to the best of their ability. You could tell who was having fun and who got the best reactions out of everyone. A lot of people were laughing and it was really funny.”
Overall they decided the 10 best/worst things about high school were gym class, field trips, after-school clubs, spirit day, parents, ACTs, dating, prom, graduation, and lastly, Friendship- wait, no, It’s Drama Class. The students in the play spent all of the first semester working hard for their roles. In the end, the play turned out amazing and was a success.
