Dance Team captains display first award of the year

It’s that time of year again!  The Bomber Dance team has already had four performances at the Community Dance Show, Byron Showcase, Apple Valley, and the Community Performance in Faribault dancing to this year’s song “Back For More”.  The girls are also fired up for the competition at Fridley this coming Saturday.

The Community Dance Show provided a fun-filled evening for members of more than just the Cannon Falls community, as this year’s show also featured performances from the Faribault Emeralds and the Irondale Knightline dance teams. The show also included the usual line-up of performances from Cannon Falls dance programs.  As a bonus, audience members enjoyed entertainment from the Bomber Dance Team parents when JV’s Dad Dance and varsity’s Mom Dance gave them the opportunity to show off their own phenomenal dance skills. Although the middle-aged entertainers had some fine kicks, they may have experienced a slight overshadow by grand finale performance of their daughters on the BDT.  “I thought it was a really good start up to the year!  We really worked to make the whole dance before the first performance,” commented senior captain Brooke Hogan.

The Bomber Dance Team had the opportunity to do another run of their rocker-themed dance a week later at the Byron Showcase.  Although they sported different costumes and the routine had been tweaked, the moment they stepped on the floor the girls proved they had come to impress once more.  “Our Byron performance I felt went pretty good, because we made a lot of changes and we executed them well.  It went good!” beams Hogan.

This past saturday the team kicked off  their competition season (pun intended) with the Apple Valley Invitational.  The Bombers were previously notorious for dominating the single A high kick division, but as the team hadn’t competed in the division for two years, the results were unpredictable and highly anticipated.  In the end the girls had a fantastic performance and left the school with high spirits after being announced in 1st place, hopefully setting the tone for yet another successful season.

Three days later they were at it again, stunning the crowd at the Community Performance in Faribault.  It was a more casual performance in comparison to the usual suspenseful competition scene, but the Bombers still pulled off another outstanding performance.

Everyone is welcome to join the BDT fans at the competition this coming Saturday, December 12th in Fridley.  Come support the team as they take on the competition and prove that they really are “Back For More” victories in single A.
