Santa Baby was my favorite piece of the night because it got everyone into the Christmas spirit

— Kendall Lawless

With Christmas quickly approaching, the Cannon Falls Choirs helped to get everyone in the holiday spirit. This Monday, December 17th the choir had its annual Christmas concert. The concert featured students from 6th through 12th grade. Performing first was the Jazz Choir who sang the songs “Mary Did You Know?” and “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.”  Next up was the Girls Pop Choir. They performed the classic tune “One Fine Day” and had fun with their rendition of “Santa Baby.” Ninth grader, Kendall Lawless said, “Santa Baby was my favorite piece of the night because it got everyone into the Christmas spirit.” Next, 6th grade took the stage with three joyful tunes. The holiday theme continued with a 7th and 8th grade combined performance including “Madrigal of the Bells”, “Bethlehem”, and “Jazzy Old Saint Nicholas.”

As the evening progressed, six students showed their talents by performing in duets. The first duet featured Vienna Qualey and Nick Engebretsen. Up next was Kendall Lawless and Jared McAdam.  The final duet spotlighted seniors Hannah Singewald and Graham Pearson.

The High School choir completed the night with four special holiday tunes. “Masters in the Hall,” “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy,” “ Glow” and “White Christmas” left guests with a feeling of holiday spirit. Kressin Hartl, a sophomore, stated her favorite song of the night was “Glow, because it was a really pretty song and our choir sounded really good singing it!” The entire concert was a huge success and left the audience full of Christmas cheer.
