On Saturday, November 30, the city of Cannon Falls will commence its Christmas celebration with Deck the Falls, which uncoincidentally shares the date with Small Business Saturday. Deck the Falls is a day-long festivity with specials from nearby businesses, providing an opportunity for shoppers to complete some of their holiday shopping while also stimulating the local economy.
Starting off the day, the Cannon Falls Lions Club will host a pancake breakfast at the fire department building. Later, the omnipresent Santa Claus will make appearances at both the library and Cannon Belles. Additionally, some Cannon Falls High School activities like the band as well as other local businesses will have a presence around town. The annual Deck the Falls parade will start at 5pm and end with the lighting of a large Christmas tree, fireworks, and a raffle drawing.
Both the Cannon Falls chapter of the National Honor Society and the High School Student Council will have their own floats in the parade.
