Student Council elections are on the horizon

“It is hard to convince a high-school student that he will encounter a lot of problems more difficult than those of algebra and geometry.” -E. W. Howe, late 19th and early 20th century American novelist

The Cannon Falls Student Council is taking on problems a bit bigger than solving arithmetic sequences – holding elections for office on Thursday, May 15th. Current Stud. Co. President Ryan Foster is happy to report that the Student Council “will have applications both in the office and online by May 1.” Anyone currently in 8th through 11th grade will have the option to apply. There are two parts to each application: The completed questionnaires and two teacher evaluations. By the end of the day on Wednesday, May 14th, all forms should be turned in.

Board elections are also happening during this time, although students must have served on the Student Council this year to grab these positions. To run for the prestigious Presidency, said students must also be a current junior/incoming senior. Foster continued, “There will be a ballot that goes out to all history classes on Thursday the 15th, and the new council will be announced on Friday, May 16th at the end of the day.”
For those with ambitions to represent the Cannon Falls student body and go a little bit farther than algebra and geometry classes, look no further than the Student Council.
