With the success of the recently-reopened McDonald’s restaurant in Cannon Falls, the McDonald’s corporation has decided to open a neighboring location – this time in Cannon Falls High School.
Recognizing the dietary and monetary situations of Cannon Falls youth, the restaurant is planned to serve food at cheaper rates and larger portions than ever, with the goal to supplant the school cafeteria for CFHS’s biggest food provider while minimizing the pocketbook impact on cash-strapped students. However, to remain profitable, the location has partnered with the school for free labor: as a graduation requirement, every student in the graduating class 2027 or younger will be required to take two semesters of Fast Food Employment.
The location is slated to open in the coming weeks, with the inaugural staff consisting of the senior class. Prices are based on the weight of the items purchased, creating a pricing system as follows:
$5 per pound of sandwiches
$3 per pound of french fries
$6 per pound of ice cream
$2 per pound of soda
$5 per pound of breakfast food
No other food will be served at this location.
