George’s Vineyard – Review

Northfield Italian eatery reviewed by Lantern staff

Voted “Best Pizza” in Southern Minnesota Applause Magazine, George’s Vineyard, an Italian inspired restaurant located in beautiful Northfield, features a wide variety of tasty dishes. This bistro consists of fabulous service and excellent food.

While walking in, we were greeted by a friendly waitress who seated us right away. At first glance, the place seemed pretty empty for a Sunday afternoon. That was until a large group entered, showing us that it seems to be a local family favorite. The overall atmosphere was very welcoming, friendly, and clean. Not only was the service and environment quite pleasant, so was the food.

After gazing over the menu for a short time, both of us decided on a obvious choice; pizza. The pizza menu featured eight meat options, nine veggies, and six other options including thick crust. With all those options, we chose our usual pepperoni pineapple. Along with pizza, the menu includes fun options like appetizers, salads, gyros, chicken, and pasta. Kayla Roeber, our dear friend, loves her pasta. She states excitedly “It’s super good!” When our pizza arrived, we were shocked by how little our wait time was. At first bite, we thought it was just delicious. The thin crust complimented well with the rest of the toppings. Not only was the pizza appealing, so was the price. With only two toppings, the bill totalled up to $14.85 for a large. We will definitely continue to return to this excellent bistro.

Generally speaking, our experience was absolutely wonderful. On a scale of 1-10, we would give it a 9. The service, along with the wide variety of foods at a decent price, is what gives George’s Vineyard an obvious nine. A nice sit down, family-friendly place is just what we were looking for. Now that we’ve visited and dined, we now understand why it was voted “Best Pizza” in Southern Minnesota Applause Magazine.
