The band booster organization sells Christmas trees as a fundraiser

It’s that time of year again! Sleighbells ring, decorations go up, preparations for having family over again come into full swing, and the holiday spirit is about to be at its climax. Although there are many things families fret over before the holiday season, one that never escapes the minds of parents and children alike is getting the perfect Christmas tree.

Cannon Falls band students with the help of the band boosters are fulfilling this wish, providing families Christmas trees for only forty dollars and wreaths for twenty dollars. Cannon Falls band students have been braving it out in the cold from 11 to 4 on Saturdays and Sundays near ACE Hardware until December 12th and 13th, to help provide funds for the band department.

Gabe Eppolite, an eleventh grade alto saxophone player, said, “Even though it may be cold outside, tree selling is a lot of fun! We get to hang out with our friends and give people the tree they need, and also get more money for the band!”

Some would say that there is nothing more important than getting the perfect Christmas tree for Christmas. Buying it from the Cannon Falls band students and band boosters is a win for getting the right tree, a win for the band, and a win for the community. Mike Legvold, band director at Cannon Falls, stated, “Christmas tree selling lasts until December 13th” So while you’re unpacking your decorations, remember that a perfect tree is waiting right around the corner here in Cannon Falls.
