Going green
After briefly dying out, the Environmental Club is making a revival under the leadership of Bianca Caputo.
On Friday, October 1, after school was let out, the Environmental Club had its first meeting. Previously led by senior CFHS students, the club took a hiatus after the seniors involved graduated and COVID-19 occurred, but the club has recently been revived by Bianca Caputo.
The Environmental Club’s main focus will be to improve the way the school treats the environment. The first meeting was dedicated to coming up with ideas of different projects, brainstorming how to get the word out to potential new members and other people in the community, and identifying organizations that the club can reach out to and collaborate with on specific projects.
It was mentioned in the meeting that many people who are interested in helping the environment are busy and unable to dedicate time to another activity. So, the club is planning on encouraging people to participate in their activities even if they can’t join the club full time. This way, more people are able to be involved without having to take time away from other commitments.
