Amidst meet cancellations and crucial injuries, the Bombers Track team successfully hosted a four team showdown on Tuesday. The women’s squad placed second in the meet, while the men secured gold.

For the women, relay dominance proved key in a strong showing at home. 4×100, 4×200, 4×400, and 4×800 relay teams all prevailed to edge out the Bombers’ opponents and win their respective events. Emma Thomley and Kelsie Beissel burst into the top five in the 100 meter dash, also spearheading the 4×100 meter race to triumph. Brooke Hogan succeeded in winning both 100 meter, as well as 300 meter hurdle events. High jumpers Angie Hoey and Kaly Banks cleared four and a half feet, tying for a first place finish. Thrower Allison Egge placed third in shot put and second in the discus throw.

Also emerging victorious were the men, ascending to success by way of field event scores. Junior Chase Jacobson and senior Alex Bultena effortlessly cleared the competition in the pole vault and high jump, winning by considerable amounts. Jumpers Beau Rueger and Gus Foss also won their events in both the triple and long jump. A 4×100 team featuring Foss took first as well. Rounding out competition was the prestigious 4×400 meter relay. The Bombers broke their own personal record in the ordeal, but a fierce Rochester Lourdes team seemed to have eaten their Wheaties that morning, and came away with the win.

Following a weather-related postponement of the St. Croix meet originally scheduled for last Thursday, the teams enter a week filled with contest. Meets are slated for Tuesday, Thursday, and an HVL conference meet at home on Saturday.
