Inducting the inductees
The new Minnesota Honors Society members will soon be inducted into the organization.
On Wednesday, May 25, at 7:00 p.m., the Cannon Falls chapter of the Minnesota Honor Society (MHS) will have their induction ceremony for new members, a banquet to celebrate the accomplishments of the society over the past year. There will be speakers and a recitation of the MHS pledge at the event.
New members officially will be inducted into the organization. They will be introduced with information about their parents, additional activities they participate in, previous volunteer activities, and why they wanted to be a member of MHS.
Although the official banquet hasn’t happened yet, new members have already had the opportunity to accumulate summer service hours. On May 21, members new and old placed flags on veterans’ graves in Cannon Falls Cemetery for Memorial Day. Some also helped out at the Kindness Retreat for local fifth graders on May 23.
The banquet will serve as a warm welcome for new members, and a final farewell to the old.
