The Bomber Dance Team competed at the Academy of Holy Angels before Christmas break and placed 2nd, finishing behind Sartell. “Our intensity was high, along with our energy,” says Kelsie Beissel, a senior captain. “We got a taste of getting close to a really good team and that gave us more of a drive to try and beat them or get even closer because we DO have what it takes.” Saturday, January 11th the Dance Team made their way to Rochester Century High School to compete for the first time in the New Year. The Bombers took 1st place in the high kick division. Finishing in 2nd was Austin. “Overall, at Rochester the team pulled off a pretty decent performance,” states senior captain Krystin Anderson. “There were a few little things the team could always improve on, but there’s always going to be”.

The girls debuted their jazz dance at the Rochester Century invite. “Since we moved in to AA, there is a lot more talent in other teams for jazz. We are competing a fun jazz dance for the rest of the season, and working towards improvement,” Anderson commented. The team took 5th place, which was considered a success with the limited amount of practice time.

says Beissel. The 18th of January the girls traveled to Fridley to compete at Totino Grace High School for another big invite. With much of the team’s competition attending, Saturday’s invite went well for the dance team. Taking home 3rd place was the Bombers, placing 2nd was Sartell, and finishing 1st was Totino Grace.

The Bomber Dance Team traveled to Goodhue on Friday for the HVL meet. Claiming the HVL Champion title was the Cannon Falls Bombers. The jazz team also did well at HVl, placing 3rd for the night. All-Conference High Kick awards went to Senior Kelsie Beissel, Senior Krystin Anderson, Senior Sheyenne Bauer, and junior, Brooke Stein. Honorable Mention: Liz Freeberg, Maddie Moskal, Allison Hansen and McKenna Bauer. All-Conference Jazz: Senior Krystin Anderson, Senior Kelsie Belissel. Honorable mention: Senior Sheyenne Bauer.

The Cannon Falls Dance Team hosted their annual mini meet January 30th. Placing first for high kick was the Bombers, coming in 2nd was the Simley Dance Team and finishing 3rd was the Northfield Highliners. Now Cannon Falls prepares to compete at sectionals on February 8th in Austin. The future placement of the Cannon Falls Bomber Dance Team will be determined due to the results.
