Government Food Laws Take Effect in the Cannon Falls Cafeteria
Everyday Dylan Rohr grabs his tray and looks at the different choices that he has for his lunch but what he doesn’t know is that Cannon Falls Schools has been making the changes to his lunch that have been required by law.
The government has started to change the amount of calories, sodium, and starches that the school can feed the students. Wendy Robinson and all of the wonderful lunch ladies have been working hard to provide foods that meet the government requirements and satisfy the growing students. One of those students that she has to satisfy is Austin Noble who is one of the many athletes that we have in this school. Most of the time Austin is not full after lunch but he does like the food choices.
This year the school has gotten money from the government to give us the fresh fruit that we have been getting. “The only canned food that we use is the baked beans,” says Wendy Robinson. Mr. Hodges said that “The meals have been even healthier than they have had been in the past. “The food changes that have been made have been wonderful says Wendy Robinson There seems to Less food now but the food is healthier says Austin Noble. Dylan Rohr has not really seen any changes, but he would like to see maxsticks on the menu more often than it has been.
