CFHS teacher Heather Loeschke has announced her engagement to Vikings football star Harrison Smith. In a scandalous but wholesome announcement for the LED, she revealed that she left her husband and started seeing Smith.

The couple is to be married on August 11, 2024, so as not to interfere with the busy teacher’s schedule, nor Smith’s football commitments. She explained that she will still be at school full-time and traveling with her soon-to-be husband on the weekends for away games.

In light of the announcement, made on March 25, every student at CFHS bought a Harrison Smith jersey to wear in support of the wedding. The dress-up day will take place on April 1, coordinated by Loeschke’s favorite class, AP Government.

Despite several consecutive disappointing seasons for Vikings fans in recent years, the CFHS student body is optimistic that the team can make and win the 2025 Super Bowl with the extra support. Loeschke has proven that she is an excellent organizer, orchestrating historical events such as the “Echoes of the Holocaust” play in the HS auditorium. Additionally, Loeschke is organizing a campaign fundraiser to fund the Vikings team in their training efforts, which has gained traction on social media. Both Loeschke and Cannon Falls students are sure that she will succeed. Thanks to Heather Loeschke and her new fiancĂ©, the Vikings are sure to have widespread success in the near future.

Salutations! I am Grace Miller, the editor-in-chief for the Lantern. I am heavily involved in FFA, speech, and my job as a barista, but my true calling is cherishing factual news sources, delving into American scandals, and appreciating corn. When I have free time, I play with my poodles. They also like scandals.

Howdy doodly! My name is Bowen Maki and I'm a muse with a camera. I'm a senior and I take pictures and videos for the Lantern. When I'm not behind the camera I like to be in front of it with theater, speech, and weightlifting. I have a deep love of psychology, skating, and stuffing my head with useless knowledge.
