“On Wednesdays we wear pink.” The 2004 movie Mean Girls holds many iconic lines that are often quoted today. In January of this year, the musical was released in theaters 20 years after the original.
Cannon Falls High School’s musical of the year is Mean Girls Jr. There were a few adaptations necessary for a youth version of the production. Aubry Conway, a senior member of this year’s show expressed that she was disappointed about some of the changes. “Actually originally my solo was cut because it was slightly inappropriate but it was added back for me with a slight lyric change and small cuts!”
There are always bumps in the road on the way to a successful performance, and this year’s production is no exception. Aubry explained that a big challenge was fast transitions. “Most of the time it just goes from one scene to the next with no transition music so that’s been kind of tricky but we’ve adapted pretty well I think!”
The musical will be put on by the theater group from Thursday to Saturday at 7 pm and on Sunday at 3 pm.

Amy Fick, News Writer
Hi everyone! I’m a freshman and this is my fourth year writing for the newspaper, which I find to be a lot of fun. I also play volleyball and run track, as well as participate in a couple of academic extracurriculars. A little fact about me is that I hate peanut butter with every fiber of my being, which is really devastating. It is heartbreaking for me to know that I may never be able to have a PB&J for lunch.
