Many 8th graders did not report to their 4th hour classes on Tuesday March 18th and here’s the story. After many of the teachers noticed their students were missing they started asking around. One student, Kaia Maki stated that “all of the students that had gone missing had science beforehand. “Could that be where the missing students are?” Stella Anderson, the top investigator asked, as she headed to Mr. Bennett’s classroom to see if he knew missing students were.
Stella’s words include “When I went to go check Mr. Bennet’s classroom I saw all the students’ supplies and unattended lab chemicals”. If all their stuff was in the room then where were the students? Investigator Anderson decided to interrogate some 8th grade students to find out if anyone knew where the missing students were. Anderson first interrogated Marissa Mandelkow to see if she had any information. Mandelkow’s words included: “When I was walking by Mr. Bennet’s room slightly after the disappearance I saw a beaker of neon blue goop that had the words DO NOT TOUCH on it.” Anderson took this clue and moved on, next to Mr. Bennett. As she stepped into the classroom she smelled a slightly unsettling sour smell. As she investigated Mr. Bennet’s room more clearly she saw faint blue footsteps leading to the back of the room towards the supply room. She followed the footsteps to the back of the classroom and it led to… “Mr.Bennet? What are you doing here, and what is all this blue goop? What’s going on!?” investigator Anderson asked. Mr. Bennet was mixing something up and seemed very suspicious. Anderson decided to mark Mr. Bennet as suspect 1. But Anderson needed more than just 1 suspect.

She decided to question Mrs. Davisson to see who was out of the class around the time of the disappearance, Anderson was brought over to the sign out sheet. And this is where suspect 2 was found. On the sign out sheet at the time of 10:36 Marissa Mandelkow signed out of Davisson’s room. And there was no time to sign in. So where did Marissa go and why had she not come back? “Very suspicious,” Investigator Anderson told herself. Anderson needed to find more information so she started asking around. Things were getting pretty boring for Anderson; it seemed like nobody had any information. Until Roni Campbell Moline said that during 4th hour she went to talk with Ms.Broring. Roni’s story included “when I went to Mrs. Broring’s room there was a small splash of blue goop on the ground and no sight of Mrs. Broring at all!” With this information Anderson knew her 3rd suspect.

Anderson knew that one of these 3 suspects were in charge of the disappearance of the 8th grade students. So she rounded all the suspects up into Mr. Bennett’s room where the incident had happened. And she reviewed the information she had on each suspect.
Suspect 1: Mr.Bennet.
“Mr Bennet, we know that the missing students had your class before they all mysteriously went missing, correct? And When I walked in here I saw you mixing chemicals. Can you explain yourself? Anderson asked “I have no idea where those trouble makers went, they simply left my classroom when the bell rang. Oh and Those chemicals you saw me mixing were simply just the mixture for my chemistry class the next hour.” Mr. Bennett stated. After Anderson listened to Mr. Bennet noticed Broring acting uneasy and decided to question her next.
Suspect 3: Anna Broring.
“Ms.Broring, I heard that you were gone at the time of the disappearance. And did I mention the splash of blue goop by your door? The same blue goop that was in the beaker that had the words DO NOT TOUCH on it! What do you have to say? Anderson stated “blue goop? Oh dear that was just some blue Gatorade I dropped from my lunch, Silly me! And I wasn’t in my room because I was subbing for Mr. Legvold!” Ms. Boring Confidently stated. Anderson’s confident suspicions on Broring were quite low now when she realized she had one final suspect left.
Suspect 2: Marissa Mandelkow.
Investigator Anderson was almost positive that Marissa was the one responsible for the disappearance.” Marissa… I’ve come to my conclusions that you’re the one behind this whole sketchy disappearance, it all makes sense now. You signed out of your class and walked to Mr. Bennet’s room and caused chaos and made all the students disappear somehow! And you even tried to cover it up by placing the blue goop to try to frame Mr. Bennet ,you also stated that you walked by Mr. Bennet’s room. Which is weird to me because the sign out sheet said that you were supposed to be at your locker. So what were you doing all the way across the school by Mr. Bennet’s room?” Stella confidently said. “Well I-I Promise it wasn’t me! Please believe me I would never make my classmates vanish!” Marissa cried. Anderson didn’t know if she could fully trust that Marissa was telling the truth. But Anderson needed more information, she felt so close but so far at the same time!
“CREEEAAKK”.. What’s that noise? Stella thought to herself. All of a sudden tons of rats came pouring out of the science supply closet! “Ahhhhhhhh” Stella screamed as she ran to jump on a desk to escape the rats. Marissa squealed and sprinted out of the room. Mrs. Broring followed closely after. Mr. Bennett quickly smirked before moving out of the way for the rats. As she was observing the army of rats all around her she noticed that one of the rats threw up an Air pod blasting the song “Again by Fetty Wap” and another started gaming on a computer. “Who are these rats and why did they act just like the 8th grade students?” Anderson thought. But then it all clicked Mr. Bennett had used the hazardous blue goop to transform his 8th grade 3rd hour science class into rats. That’s what the blue mixture he was mixing up was. “Mr. Bennett!” Stella exclaimed. “I know you turned the students into lab rats.! Why did you do this?” “I-I-I well” he said as he scratched the back of his head. Anderson smiled with excitement; she had cracked the case.
