NaNoWriMo
National novel writing month observed at CFHS
It’s here! On Nov. 1st, aspiring writers around the globe took up the challenge known as NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). This program is designed to help writers achieve one goal: write a novel or 50,000 words in one month. Even more than that, NaNoWriMo sets out to encourage people who love books to write one themselves. NaNoWriMo also has a young writer’s program and a camp for teenage writers in July which had a total of 145,274 participants in 2014. Stephanie Perkins, Rainbow Rowell, and Marissa Meyer started their novels as a NaNoWriMo project and transformed from writers behind a desk into bestselling authors. In 2013, 452,095 people participated in NaNoWriMo and 310,095 writers met their goal. Read more about NaNoWriMo in the infographic below!
