The Bomber wrestling team unfortunately did not make it to State, but a few individuals did.

The Bomber Wrestling Team had a beyond-successful season. By sending three different, talented athletes to state, the boys worked hard to finish out the season together. Their last wrestling match took place in their home gym. They lost to Pine Island in an unfortunate 32-36 loss. It was a sad way to end the season as the athletes wished to make it to the Civic Center, however, it was still a successful season and the wrestlers will hold their heads high.

Over the season, the team worked hard to complete their goals. They wanted to make it to the Civic Center in Rochester as a team. This is where the teams that won their first round then move into and wrestle in the quarter-finals. Unfortunately, with the loss to Pine Island, the boys did not meet their goal.

On the other hand, during the individual section tournaments, three boys came out on top and headed to the Xcel Energy Center to take on the best in the state. Calvin Singewald, champion of the 133 lb. weight class, went on his fourth year participating in the State Tournament. Singewald ended up in the championship match but lost to a talented wrestler and he placed second in the state. Tristan Zingler from Randolph wrestled the 189 lb. class. He and Adam Parish, the 114 lb. wrestler, made it to the state tournament but were not as successful when facing fellow state wrestlers. Nonetheless, Adam Parish still said he completed one of his goals, and he has a lot more to accomplish with only being a freshman.

With seven graduation seniors, it will be a challenge for the next season to find eligible wrestlers to take over the highly talented seniors. Seniors Teigan Baird, Jaeden Baird, Calvin Singewald, Lucas Freeberg, Jacob Bigalk, Mason Dolan, and David Boone completed their last wrestling season with Cannon Falls where they wrestled their hearts out until their final match. A season well spent together, the boys bonded more than ever this season.

Freshman Adam Parish is optimistic and excited for next year explaining, “I hope to make it to the Civic Center and to meet new people.” He continues to explain how he wishes to place at state in his upcoming sophomore year. He is eager to see how the 2024-2025 season will go and so are the rest of the underclassmen. While waiting for the next wrestling season, check out these wrestlers also participating in other spring and fall sports.
