On October 18th, Cannon Falls High School will be administering the PSAT for any juniors who are interested. The exam will be at the school starting right away at 8 a.m. It will be proctored by Steven Strauss and Kirsten Hoffman.
The Pre-SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test is a national standardized college entrance exam organized by the College Board — which also organizes the SAT and AP tests. The test provides an opportunity for students to practice for the SAT or ACT. More importantly, the test puts students in the running for National Merit Scholarships, which are given out by numerous universities throughout the States.
All juniors are highly encouraged to take the exam. There are a limited number of tests available, so students must register in advance on the online school store. There is a fee of $18 to take the exam. Any additional questions can be directed to Kirsten Hoffman.
