When asked what they were most looking forward to this season, junior Josie Sjoquist and senior Chloe Sjoquist were both anticipating big exciting things this year. Josie Sjoquist explained what she was looking forward to by saying “What I’m looking forward to most this season is spending time with my teammates.” Chloe Sjoquist also highlighted her teammates, then she explained her excitement for their “new look” this year as they have new uniforms.

Both of these teams are known to be extremely talented and hold many strengths. Junior Abram Tennessen and seniors Jack Meyers and Preston Schoenfelder, all emphasized the strength of their team’s defense and pitching abilities. Meyers also added that another strength will be their “team chemistry, as we are all really close”. For the softball team, Josie Sjoquist says “We have lots of strengths this season with so many starters coming back. There are a lot of great hitters and fielders on our team, so I think our improvements will mostly be details like situations and pitch selection”.
Both the softball and baseball teams have large goals that they will work to achieve throughout this season. Tennessen hopes to see his team go to state and potentially take home a state championship. As for softball, they are hoping to maintain a win average of over 70% and they hope to make a run during the postseason.
