American football is said to be of one of the hardest sports in the world because it requires a lot of mental and physical strength, hard work, and dedication. Football is important to a lot of people around the world. “I think football is entertaining because there’s a lot of action,” seventh grader Bella Boyum said.
The middle school 7th grade football team has just finished wrapping up their season with a record of 0-8. Even though their record wasn’t the greatest, they still had a goal for the season. “Our main goal was to get better and win games but we didn’t win any games this year unfortunately, but I think we got a lot better throughout the season.” Said Slade Shramske, a seventh grade football player on the team. The seventh grade football team still worked really hard through the season and off-season, by doing weights, practicing, having a good mindset, working hard, and just enjoying the game they love to play. Their team roster consists of Abe Rassier, Kolton Miller, Kason Lindahl, Blake Stark, Mikko Otterness, Slade Shramske, Carter Stay, Hunter Jones, Aiden Shorter Johnson, Rafe Fox, Brayden Bulson, Brady Fox, Brezlun Qualey, Louie Otto, Antonio Snow, Reed Holz, and Keaton Addington.
The quarterbacks on the team are Kolton Miller and Brady Fox. Kolton says “My favorite play is 18 dagger because it was a pass play and we don’t have that good of a line so running doesn’t work that well and it was our best play.” Brady Fox says “at practice if we did bad at one thing, we would practice that the rest of the week, we would run, or try to practice what we needed to learn at practice throughout the week.”
Even the 7th grade girls went to some of their games to watch. It was really fun for the boys when the girls came to watch some of their games because it would give them a chance to show off their skills, moves, sportsmanship and more. The 7th grade girls were also an impact for the boys by going and watching some of their games.
Football is really important to people around the world because all of these young athletes try their hardest to prove themselves, still have good sportsmanship, and most of all they want to have fun and play the sport that they love to play and are in for a reason.
