Friday, October 1st, the boys soccer team took on Schaeffer Academy. It was an extra special night for the seven seniors, not only was it their senior night, but they also received the opportunity to play at John Burch Park. The seniors on the team: Hunter Singewald, Mitchell Hoffman, Cooper Schuttloffel, Michael Fimmen, Connor Loeschke, Bennett Lochner, and Mayson Blanck got to take the field for one last time at home.

John Burch Park is a very special facility to Cannon Falls High School, as it is the home field for the football and baseball teams, so getting the chance to not only play there, but to also play there on a Friday was extra special. Senior captain Connor Loeschke said, ”I was very excited because it was my only chance to play at John Burch Park.”

Although the game went into overtime and ended in a tie, it felt like a win to them. They played hard and left it all out on the field. The senior goalie, Bennett Lochner, said that, ”it was pretty cool to see all of the support that was given that night and it was fun to put a couple of goals in the back of the net!”. The boys ended their regular season with a tough loss to PIZM, which has been a top competitor in the Hiawatha Valley League conference for many years. They went into the playoffs with a record of 1-10-2.
