Middle School football and soccer players put their best feet forward
The success of the football team did was described by a fellow football player, Preston Heckmann. He said that he was only able to play for half the season because of back problems. ”I felt the season was good because we had a lot of good players. We did good, we were like any other Cannon Falls team. We had our ups and our downs. ” When asked who was the best on the team, Heckmann said, “Nick Bultena did very well because, he could play a lot of positions and he had some really good catches”. Also, when asked who developed the most during the football season he stated, “definitely Braxton Ulrich, because it was his first year on the team”.
During an interview with JV soccer player Nick Englebretsen, Nick stated this about the season, “I feel we did very good even though we had a lot of 8th grade students. Our overall was 2 ties and 8 losses. Nate was a great player and did very well. If they had trouble on the opposite side, he would run over to help”. Also, when asked who improved the most on the JV team, he said, “Blake Hernke and Cameron Langdon. Blake at first started off at defending at the start, but when put as midfield, he was a great help to the defence and the forwards, and that was a good place for him,” Nick said. “We tried even though we were going up against a lot of 9th through 11th graders”.
Though the two teams didn’t win a lot they still did their best to win and that’s all that matters.
