Monday was just a regular stormy day for Cannon Falls High School(CFHS) students. That was until a certain someone decided to point out that it was raining cats and dogs. Various types of dogs and cats were falling from the sky and landing on the ground. This is all because of idioms. For Cannon Falls, idioms are now very real and are affecting CFHS.
After the cats and dogs outside were taken care of, students were able to get inside and into class. Many students walked into Olson’s world history class and were surprised to see Olson’s new hairdo. As the bell rang and class started, a student pointed out the elephant in the room, being Olson’s new hair. Suddenly, like magic, the class turned to find an elephant stuck in the doorway leading to Vande-Hoef’s room. Rumors spread across the school which led to even more elephants in the classrooms. A student in Vande-Hoef’s room, who wished to stay anonymous shared, “It was crazy, suddenly there was an elephant stuck inside the door.”
After four classes with cats and dogs falling from the sky outside and elephants appearing in classrooms, Lince Otterness was seen approaching Mrs. Winget. Witnesses say that they overheard one of the two say “When pigs fly.” Since then there have been reports of pigs taking flight all over Cannon Falls. Students such as Elliot Iverson said, “This has been a fun and eventful day that I’m sure I won’t forget.”
Though students can’t tell who is behind this interesting commotion, there have been a few theories. With the chaos of cats and dogs outside, elephants in rooms, and now pigs flying, word is spreading fast. There have been reports showing up all over national news sites, trying to figure out what is going on. Though none of the news articles seem to think this could have started at the school, students know otherwise, having seen it only happen in school.
Though it has been an interesting few days day, students and staff hope that it will end soon. The first day was a chaotic day for students and teachers alike, and many can’t wait to get back to their regular schedules. There is no known answer for how long these effects will last, or if they will ever stop. Students should be on the lookout for many different and unusual animals roaming around Cannon Falls.
