We’re very sorry to say, but this will be the last upload here on our school’s newspaper site. Due to increasing conflicts with our leader’s age–he is older than the dinosaurs–and the writing ability of the staff, the last article will be posted at the end of this week. Many of our writers possess talents that exceed what we’re able to showcase on this platform.

To ensure that we are actually shutting it down, we will be writing the password and username on a small sheet of paper, placing it in a bottle, and throwing it into Lake Byllesby. Meanwhile, all of the editors-in-chief will remove the password from their devices. Our only hope is that the bottle is not discovered by nearby schools. Or they might use it to their advantage.

Henry Flodeen, a freshman writer, exclaimed, “I want to be sad to see this go, but I just can’t.” He’s on his own with this opinion, though, since many others are very sad to see the lantern go. Junior, Joel Hernandez Lopez, was very sad to hear that the Lantern is disappearing. In his words, “I’ve read every article, and I can’t believe there won’t be any more to read.” He’s one of many who are very sad to see it go. Readers need to stay calm during this difficult time.

 We hope the community remembers the spark we brought to these digital pages before the light finally dims. As we move forward into new ideas, our voices will surely find even bigger audiences elsewhere. Thank you for being part of our history and sharing in this incredible journey. Our words will echo long after the site goes dark, serving as a testament to the talent found here.
