‘Tis the Season for Giving
The annual student council Giving Tree will be held Dec. 13-16
Get into the holiday spirit by giving the gift of giving. Starting Monday December 12th, the High School Student Council will be running the Giving Tree to collect new toys, clothes, personal care items, household items, and cleaning supplies for kids at the Ronald McDonald House in Rochester, Minnesota. One of the key aspects of the holidays is the joy and wonder that can be brought to kids in need by something as simple as a doll or a toy car. The newer the better, as these toys are going to kids that are more than likely sick, and anything that has been used could be carrying diseases. Give them the same joy that every kid deserves to feel on a holiday morning. Just the thought of receiving a gift could warm a person’s heart for the rest of the cold Minnesota winter. The Giving Tree ends on December 16th, so make sure to get everything in before that day, otherwise the donations won’t be taken to the Ronald McDonald House. If not, you will have to deliver them yourself. We can all remember the days of happiness and Christmas spirit that came with the holiday season. If the Grinch’s heart could grow three sizes in one day, our hearts should be able to grow at least one size in four days. So don’t be a Grinch this year for the holidays and give the gift of giving to someone who really deserves to know what the holiday spirit is about.
