1. Pandemic/Covid
● Donald Trump, the president of the United States, stated “My administration will stop at nothing to save lives and shield the vulnerable.”
● The Trump Administration executed early action at the start of the pandemic, by cutting off travel from China. They also required airport screening for travelers.
● President Trump and the medical researchers that he has been working with built the world’s leading testing system for Covid-19.
○ The Trump Administration has one goal: follow and fight the virus.
● The Trump Administration placed measures to slow the spread of COVID-19.
○ The American people stepped up to do the task
○ Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx, two well renowned medical experts, claim that President Trump took effective measures once data was presented to him and his team.
● The Trump Administration and their medical team launched an effort to produce a record time vaccine.
○ The effort included a revamped clinical trial process.
○ President Trump emphasised investing in leading vaccine producing candidates.
○ President Trump claims that many vaccine candidates are nearing the final stages of trial.
● Hotspots for the virus were primarily a concern for President Trump as resources were directly supplied to the hotspots for relief.
○ President Trump exercised the Defense Production Act over 30 times.
■ The Defense Production Act allows U.S. presidents to expand and use the supply of materials and services that promote national defense.
○ The Trump Administration sent out hand sanitizer, testing supplies, and ventilators to those in need.
○ President Trump put guidelines in place to reduce risk in areas such as nursing homes.
○ President Trump guaranteed that uninsured American’s would have access to testing and care for COVID-19.
○ President Trump invested $2 billion dollars into health centers.
○ The Trump Administration reports that testing sites are surging.
● President Trump confronted China for causing the virus, and their inability to alert the rest of the world about the risks of Covid-19.
○ President Trump claims that China failed to be transparent or contain the virus initially.
○ President Trump held the World Health Organization accountable for bias towards China which threatened American safety.
● President Trump continuously made sure that workers and businesses were given valuable support to keep them afloat.
○ President Trump signed the Paycheck Protection Program, which saved 51 million jobs.
○ The Trump Administration made direct payments to Americans who were suffering from the initial wave of the pandemic.
○ The Trump Administration provided tax relief, unemployment benefits, and student debt relief to those in need.
○ President Trump allowed states to reopen as soon as they were safely able to do so. He also provided data and resources to insure a safe reopening.
