On Monday, November 11, the annual Veteran’s Day program was held in the high school gym. It began just after the beginning of third hour, around 10:00 in the morning, and ended a bit after the start of fourth hour.
As with previous years, the colors were presented by members of the VFW. Delivering the opening remarks was Minnesota Honor Society member Calissa Rickert, who led the school in saying the pledge of allegiance and provided details about the significance of Veteran’s Day.
This year’s main speaker was Mark Legvold, brother of Cannon Falls band teacher Mr. Legvold and veteran of the United States Air Force. Closing out the speeches was a member of the VFW who introduced the slideshow of featured local veterans. Finally, the ceremony ended with the Cannon Falls High School band’s performance of “Armed Forces Medley” and the retiring of the flags.
