Every week on Patrick’s Day, the torchies protest something. This year, they protested that orange is not a color, but a fruit. If you stay to read my article, you can also think that orange is the color of fruit. Hopefully, the majority think it’s a fruit and not a color. But regardless, the Torchies certainly believe so.
I went around asking people if they thought orange was a color or a fruit. First, Ahna, a 6th grader, says, “A color, because orange is a color. What do you see when you see an orange? A lemon was run over by a car.” Ok, well, that is something people don’t say every day.
Hoping someone would say it’s a fruit, I went straight to Lucas Parish. I asked with high hopes, “Do you think orange is a color or a fruit? A color, why? Mangos.” So, he sees mangos when he looks at an orange. But he also rejects Torch’s belief by supporting the idea that orange is also a color.
Braxton Johnson is the last person, and he could be the only one right. “Do you think orange is a color or a fruit? I mean, I think orange is an orange.” He was then asked what he sees when he sees the color, to which he responded with, “a dirtbike.” Well, there goes the Torchies’ hopes in getting non-Torchies on board with orange isn’t a color, but a fruit.
I can’t believe that people think orange is a color and not a fruit. I have proof. Apple=fruit, Banana=fruit, and orange = fruit. Therefore, an orange is a fruit. And orange is a fruit because the color is actually brown, just lighter, like really light. Well I hope some of you reading agrees its a fruit and not a color. Thank you for reading, and hopefully you don’t agree with Ahna, Lucas, and Braxten.
