Another college commitment is in the books at Cannon Falls High School.
Senior Calvin Singewald has officially signed with the University of Wisconsin Eau-Claire. Singewald will be participating in wrestling at Eau-Claire. After a remarkable run wrestling with the Cannon Falls Bombers, Singewald expressed his desire to continue to wrestle, saying “I put a lot of time into wrestling, so why should I stop now?” While competing with the Bombers, Singewald earned his way to the state tournament four times. He ended his career — with the Bombers — strong by competing in the state championship for his weight class. The showdown ended in a loss for Singewald, yet he still achieved second place in the Minnesota State Tournament for his weight class.
There are lots of factors that go into deciding on a college, and for Singewald the two things that helped him decide where to go were the “great” University of Wisconsin Eau-Claire coaching staff and the campus. Singewald is not entirely sure what he will study at Eau-Claire, but is “leaning towards accounting.” In addition to the thrill of college wrestling, Singlewald mentioned he is excited for the unlimited food.
After an exhilarating and successful run with the Cannon Falls Bomber Wrestling Team, Singewald is sure to stir up some excitement at the University of Wisconsin Eau-Claire.
