An evening filled with music, friendship, celebration, and…bad jokes? The 2015 Homecoming Coronation, hosted by senior emcee’s Lily French and Matt Moskal, fell nothing short of it’s grand expectations. Kicking the night off with a stellar performance of Weezer’s “Say It Ain’t So”, Juniors Rachel Hartman and Quinn Sabin, along with Sophomore Michael Benson revved up the audience for the excitement to come. Coaches promoted their teams by boasting about their recent wins and telling inspiring tales of their losses, such as the soccer team’s steadfast hope and determination when overcoming their few losses. During the course of the event, two additional musical acts performed riveting covers of songs known and loved by many; Jason Mraz’s “I Won’t Give Up” was performed by duo Bjorn Pearson and Maddie Adel, and Matt Breuer and Aria Tennessen covering “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” by Meghan Trainor.

After the audience had been on the edges of their seats for quite some time, the night drew to a close with the crowning of the 2015 Homecoming King and Queen: Max Rueger and Emma Thomley, with the supporting court Maddie Adel, Mckenna Bauer, Brooke Hogan, Callie Loeschke, Katie Noble, Grace Rutter, Kyler Banks, Mason Beissel, Gabe Hall, Brandon Hernke, Bjorn Pearson, and Carter Reber. The 2016 Homecoming Coronation will live up to the legacy left by that of 2015 and the many years before.
