Ms. Hoffman dispenses “college knowledge” from her office

Here’s a situation: Alex is yearning to apply to four colleges—a little calculation totals two hundred dollars in application fees, or two weeks worth of paychecks. Now, situation two: four colleges, four waived application fees and two hundred dollars in Alex’s pocket (or twenty trips to Buffalo Wild Wings). Don’t forget to take advantage of College Knowledge month, or October as it’s more commonly known to students, for eliminating these fees.

Education Minnesota Break is an opportune time to revisit schools and complete applications. To possibly avoid any monstrous fees that help clean out already thin wallets, many Minnesota schools will eliminate this unwanted toll during the last week of October. Or, check on applying while touring to keep a little extra money tucked away.

“I often hear [many seniors] saying I wish I would have done this sooner.” Seniors, listen to the words of the wise, in this case, guidance counselor, Mrs. Hoffman. Soon equals now, with College Knowledge month shining like a beacon to those stranded wondering what step to take for college.College month

Peeking down the vocational path, the same standards relate. Seniors with a special program in mind should start filling out and sending in the applications—they aren’t as daunting as they seem. “When that [program] fills up, it’s done. You want to apply now,” acknowledges Mrs. Hoffman. The future is beckoning, along with those two hundred delectable wings.
