There are a lot of talented middle school artists in Cannon Falls, but this month’s Middle School Artist of the Week goes to Blake Hernke. Middle school art teacher Brett Zimmerman claimed that Blake is an impressive artist. He enjoys any kind of art, but his favorite is drawing. Blake particularly likes creating pieces that have to do with sports and houses. His favorite tool to draw with is simply a pencil. When asked what his inspiration was and why he enjoys art, Blake’s response was, “No one has really inspired me, I’ve just always liked it.” He says that he started drawing in his first grade art class and has liked it ever since.
