It’s time for kickoff! The weather has cooled and the fans are ready, the boys of fall are back. Returning after a tough season last year, with a record of 2-7, the team takes the win in their opening game in the 2015 season against Zumbrota-Mazeppa. The final score of 24-6 brings hopes for a brighter season for fans, as well as head coach Joshua Hofstedt.  “We hope to compete for the conference championship and make it to state.” -Coach Hofstedt  Josh Hofstedt is supported with a coaching staff of Dan Meyers, Josh Sauter, Bucky Lindow, Brandon Matson, and JV coaches Tyler Quinlan, and Brett Zimmerman.  “As a coach there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for my current and former players. I believe we form a family atmosphere that in most cases stands the test of time.” -Coach Hofstedt

Time, rumor has it, has changed ‘America’s pastime’ from baseball to football. The devotion that Hofstedt has explained may be the reason for that change. Surveyors can see the connection the Bomber football boys have with one another on and off the field. Varsity upperclassmen players are always watching the JV and middle school teams home games, supporting them from the sidelines.

For the past few years the football program has had high school players coach the third and fourth grade youth teams. It gives the players leadership skills also while giving younger boys role models.  “I love football and the life lessons it can teach. For some kids football can be the catalyst that changes their life for the better.” -Coach Hofstedt

A great sport, a great program, and great men can lead to greatness. Go get ’em boys!
