A modest proposal

A Modest Proposal for Preventing the Continuing Abuse of the Canine Species by Keeping their Owners in a Tiny Metal Cage

A grubby blanket sits crumpled in the corner of a tiny metal cage. A whimpering dog sits curled in ball. His ribs can be seen through his skin. He looks as though he hasn’t eaten in days. There is a small water bowl with grimy water with specks of dirt floating in it. His owner has not let the dog out in very long time, so it has developed gruesome bedsores. The dog tries to stand up, but its unexercised muscles can’t support the weight of its tiny body. People often adopt a dog, but leave them to sit in their cage. This is a disastrous problem.

In order to stop the further terrible prevention of dogs properly living their lives to the fullest, the owners need to be stuck in small cages. Society needs to take away their freedom and food. They will need to spend all day everyday in a cage that is half the size of their body. They will only receive a loaf of moldy bread and a jar of water to last the week. If they complain, they need to be beaten until they become quiet.

Firstly, the rude people of society will be eliminated. Secondly, if society keeps people in cages, they will not need their house anymore. Homeless people, or those looking for a home will have an easier job of finding homes. Thirdly, those allergic to animals will still be able to have pets. They can keep a human as pet, and it will not aggravate their allergies. Fourthly, it could provide entertain at a party. Everyone loves to laugh at a human who is in a degrading position. Fifthly, for the obese dog owners, they will lose weight quickly. They won’t need to find a weight program.  Sixthly,

People may think this idea is inhumane. Keeping animals in these conditions is just as inhumane. Animals often do not get a second chance. Once the owner has learned his lesson, he will be let out and allowed to live again.

An animal should not be kept in a cage with no food, water, or exercise. If this modest proposal is integrated into society, the animals will be able to be free. This is the only way owners will learn their lesson.
