AP World History Students To Recreate Guillotine before AP World Exam...all but One Student Volunteer themselves for demonstration

SATIRE
For their final project before taking the dreaded AP World History Exam in early May, students of the CFHS AP World History Class have decided to build a full scale model of a guillotine, the chosen method of execution in early modern France. “I think it’s a great idea,” The teacher exclaimed, “It’s educational, and it’s really a once in a lifetime experience for them. I’m not concerned at all for their safety.” The volunteering students have spent the last 4 class periods writing their wills, and have decided to pool whatever hope they have left for life after taking the course and donate it to the generation to follow. “It’s not a lot, I’ll admit,” volunteer Miranda Felton explained, “But a little can go a long way, especially in WHAP.” Upon hearing the project proposal, student teacher Mr. Woitalla was not by any means shocked. “If only they’d read the blue book,” he sighed, “they wouldn’t need the project to help their grade in the first place.” The event is set for April 27th on the football field behind the High School, and the students haven’t appeared so enthusiastic since the beginning of the school year. Quinn Sabin, the only student to not courageously donate his life to the cause, is the most excited of them all. “The class really isn’t that bad,” he stated, “Them being gone will just free up some time for me to ask questions and really get to know the material without being interrupted by their cries of agony.” Quinn sees a bright future for himself in engineering, and will help build the contraption. Junior and WHAP student Alana Robinson says that she looks forward her public beheading. “It’s been a good run,” the student solemnly sighed, a slight smile slowly appearing, “It’s better this way. I’m just glad to end it now before my grade can get any lower.”
