Emcee Kenzie Fimmen whips up the elementary crown

Elementary pep fest

As the Elementary students file in one after the other, the sound in the gymnasium grows louder and louder with each new child. However, that sound is nothing compared to the eardrum shattering screeches that occurred when Chase Reber, Senior and captain of the football team screams out, “Who loves football?” to the crowd of attentive young fans. The elementary school pep fest is always a fun time for everyone involved, even though the sound may be deafening at times. Luckily the entire point of the pep fest is to get loud and excited for your school, a skill that most high schoolers still haven’t mastered. The events down at the elementary included, a pep band, speakers from all fall sports and activities, and the walking of the Homecoming court. Of course the grandest gesture occurred when it was time for the king and queen, Grant Schlichting and Grace Hall respectively, as the entirety of the royal couples loyal subjects bowed down to them (mostly the pep band). All  Despite the loud nature of the event, it went off without a hitch, even though you couldn’t hear everything that was being said at times. The hope is to bring just as much energy next year, just maybe with a bit less ear shattering screeches.
